A coffee mug for your morning routine, a serving plate for your next dinner with friends or something you’ve been saving on Pinterest. Our pottery workshops in Zürich give you the chance to create a ceramic piece from scratch, with guidance throughout.
Join us at Ceramics on Wheels in Oerlikon for beginner-friendly hand-building workshops. You’ll shape your piece using clay, then paint and decorate it during the same session with your own colours, patterns and personal touches.
Come on your own, bring a friend or make it a creative date. You don’t need pottery experience or a perfectly formed idea to get started.
Different Themes, Room for Your Ideas
Each workshop has a starting point, with plenty of freedom to make your piece your own.
Our calendar includes everyday favourites such as mugs, bowls, vases, planters and serving plates, alongside seasonal workshops and special editions.
You might make decorations for Christmas, try a Halloween-inspired creation or join a Cinema & Clay evening. The themes change throughout the year, so check the calendar to see what’s coming up.
Some sessions focus on one type of piece, others let you choose between several ideas. Each workshop listing explains what you can make and what’s included.
How It Works
1. Choose your workshop
Browse our upcoming events and pick a theme and date that suit you. You’ll find the price, duration and booking details on each workshop page.
2. Build your piece
We’ll introduce you to the hand-building techniques you need and guide you through shaping your creation.
3. Paint and personalise
Once your piece is built, use our underglaze paints to add colour, patterns, illustrations or little details. Building and painting happen during the same session.
4. We fire and glaze it
Your piece stays with us for drying, firing and glazing. We’ll let you know when it’s ready to collect from our Zürich studio.
Prices and Booking
Prices vary depending on the workshop and the project you’ll be making. Each event page shows the price per person and what’s included.

Can’t Make the Listed Dates?
If you’ve found a workshop you’d love to try but the dates don’t work, send us an email. We can let you know about upcoming sessions or discuss a private workshop for your group.
For birthdays, celebrations or an afternoon with your favourite people, you can choose a workshop theme or give everyone the freedom to make something different.
